This listing is for PDF pattern to make the pencil cup, not the actual pencil cup!

I had all my pencils, seam rippers and other small items all over my cutting table, so I decided I needed a pencil cup. A friend of mine made a large bucket for himself and let me borrow some ideas from it - and I named this design after him.

This is a quick and easy project, which is fun to make, and it can be a perfect gift, too!

Difficulty: beginner.
Formats: A4 and USLetter.
Instructions with pictures included.

Materials:
Here is what I used: a 6 oz veg tan for the body, a 3-4oz bridle veg tan for the stripes, and 3-4 oz veg tan for the bottom rim. The holes are 3/8” and you will need a piece of rope that would fit this diameter. Of course you can adjust this according to what you have. If you have 1/4” rope make smaller holes.

Tools:

Scissors, knife (paper knife or rotary cutter would also work).
Stitching irons: my pattern is made for 5mm stitching irons (5 stitches per inch). If you
are willing to use any other size please make sure that the hole count is the same where
it has to be the same.
Needles - according to your thread size, a pair of harness needles.
Mallet, hole punch, small hook (to get the rope through the holes).
